LODI: Man Killed in Semi Truck Accident on Highway 12 near Guard Road

LODI, CALIFORNIA (November 1, 2017) – A man was killed in a semi truck accident on Highway 12 near Guard Road on October 30th, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 4:40 am on Highway 12 near Guard Road. A 73 year old man was driving westbound in a 2002 Volvo, heading towards Guard Road. A semi truck carrying a double load of walnuts was heading eastbound when he began to lose control of his vehicle, swerving back and forth and overturning. The Volvo then collided with the overturned trailer.

The 73 year old man in the Volvo was tragically confirmed to have been killed as a result of the accident. The semi truck driver was hospitalized with minor injuries after the accident. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
