The accident happened around 12:00 pm at a residence in the 2900 block of North Taylor Street. Authorities responded to a private home where a little boy had reportedly been trapped underneath an elevator. Firefighters cut a hole in the ceiling and broke through sheet rock to lift the elevator off the two year old who had gotten trapped underneath for unknown reasons.

The two year old was tragically pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine how the child got underneath the elevator, and if the elevator malfunctioned in any way.
