LEBEC, CALIFORNIA (February 26, 2017) – A vehicle and semi-truck collided into each other on northbound 5 Freeway, north of Smokey Bear Road. (map)
The driver of a Kia Optima was seen recklessly driving prior to the crash, which occurred around 5:15 p.m. According to the California Highway Patrol, the Kia crashed into the semi-truck.
An ambulance arrived at the scene of the collision to attend to any who had been injured. The Kia sustained major front-end damage because of the impact. Tow trucks had to be called in to clear up the crash scene. Paramedics have not yet released a report on the injuries. The crash remains under investigation in order to determine cause and liability.
