LAYTONVILLE, CALIFORNIA (January 23, 2017) – A DUI related accident injured at least one person on 101 Freeway near Black Oak Ranch on Monday morning, according to local news sources. (map)
The accident happened around 11:05 am on the 101 Freeway, near Black Oak Ranch Road. 65 year old Gary Fischer was driving northbound in a Volvo semi-truck when 58 year old Gerald Stillwell heading south in a Ford abruptly swerved into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with Gary Fischer’s semi-truck.
The accident caused injuries to Gary Fischer, and he was hospitalized with major injuries. The driver of the Ford, Gerald Stillwell, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and booked into jail. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
