RIVERDALE, UTAH (July 26, 2017) – A small plane crashed on a Utah highway on Wednesday, killing all four people on board, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened just before 1:00 pm in Riverdale. A small Beech A36 Bonanza plane carrying four people had just taken off from the Ogden-Hinckley Airport when it crashed onto Interstate 15 for an unknown reason.
All four people on board were killed, including 48 year old pilot Layne Clarke and his 46 year old wife Diana. Also in the plane were 45 year old Perry Huffaker and 42 year old Sarah Huffaker. The cause of the crash is unknown, but witnesses say the plane appeared to be out of control before the crash. The plane narrowly missed cars on the highway, and landed in the median.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing at this time, and the FAA and NTSB are on scene to assist local authorities in their investigation.
