LAKESIDE: Hit and Run Accident on Mapleview Street and Ashwood Street

“Breaking News”

LAKESIDE, CALIFORNIA (April 13, 2017) – A hit and run crash left at least one person with injuries on Thursday morning on Mapleview Street, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)

The accident happened around 10:00 am at the intersection of Mapleview Street and Ashwood Street. A gray sedan was hit by a black Volkswagen Jetta that immediately fled the scene.

At least one person inside the gray sedan sustained injuries, and paramedics responded to the scene. Authorities are on the lookout for the suspect vehicle, and initial reports indicate the hit and run car was carrying at least two people with tattoos, and one was wearing a hat. The accident remains under investigation.

“A motorist injured at the hands of a hit-and-run driver is subject to a bodily injury claim against the negligent parties insurance, assuming they have insurance once the driver is caught. If the negligent party does not carry auto insurance, injured parties will still have a claim if the motorist carries uninsured motorist coverage on their vehicle also known as UM,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm.
