LAKE OF THE WOOD, CALIFORNIA (January 17, 2017) – A couple from Sacramento was killed on Tuesday after they were involved in an accident with a big rig on Highway 140, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 11:00 am on Highway 140 near Indian Memorial Road. A Sacramento couple identified as 51 year old Chu Vang and a 47 year old passenger identified as 47 year old Pa Vang were traveling in a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck when they lost control for some reason, veering into opposing lanes and crashing into a semi-truck driven by a 38 year old man.
Both Pa Vang and Chu Vang were both tragically pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the truck, 38 year old Denny Choate, sustained minor injuries in the accident. The incident remains under investigation to determine cause and liability.
