“DUI Driver Arrested”
LAGUNA NIGUEL (February 8, 2017) – Scott Clark, 55, a teacher in Laguna Niguel, died two weeks after he was hit by a DUI driver while crossing a crosswalk at Alicia Parkway and Niguel Road on January 25th around 6:30 p.m. (map)
Clark suffered head trauma and multiple fractures as a result of the accident. He was being treated at Mission Hospital, where he succumbed to his fatal injuries. Clark was a fifth grade teacher at Laguna Niguel Elementary School and a four-time Ironman triathlete.
The crash occurred between a BMW and a Mercedes that was being driven by Jamie Mulford, 34, of Laguna Niguel. Mulford was arrested for felony driving under the influence resulting in injuries. The investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability.
