SAN LUIS OBISPO, CALIFORNIA (October 6, 2017) – Lacey Tanner Redd was identified as the bicyclist that was hit by a car and killed on Friday, October 6th, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened on Corbett Canyon Road near Highway 227 around 7:30 am. 38 year old Lacey Tanner Redd was riding a bicycle east on Corbett Canyon Road when she was suddenly struck from behind by a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek driven by a 47 year old man.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but Lacey Redd was tragically pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. The driver that struck Lacey was identified as 47 year old Byran Coddington. Coddington stated that the sun was in his eyes and he did not see Lacey until the last minute. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
