
“Fatal Accident”
LA VERKIN, UTAH (January 3, 2017) – A construction site accident on Tuesday near the La Verkin City Park killed Steven Cox, according to local news sources. (map)
The accident happened around 2:00 pm on Tuesday near the La Verkin City Park. The area around State Route 17 (also known as State Street) has been under construction as crews work to relocate a gas line underground. A trackhoe struck Steven Cox, who was working at the site.
Steven Cox, a 58 year old man from Rockville, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing at this time, and initial reports state the operator of the backhoe did not see Cox.
