The accident happened around 2:38 pm near Oak Tree and Pete Dye. Stephen Southam, a 41 year old man from San Clemente, was operating a golf course under the influence of alcohol, and made an unsafe turn that caused his 59 year old passenger to fall out of the golf cart.

The passenger was rushed to JFK Memorial Hospital by responding paramedics, with unspecified injuries. Stephen Southam was arrested for DUI and was booked into the Riverside County Jail. The accident remains under open investigation at this time.

“Any injured party involved in an accident will have a bodily injury claim against the negligent driver who caused the accident,” said a California car accident and personal injury lawyer.
