Fatal 2-Car Crash on State Route 94

LA MESA, CALIFORNIA (December 11, 2016) – A 24-year-old man from Oregon died in a high-speed crash that sent a sports car off the side of Highway 94 and down 70 feet below onto Spring Street, reported the Patch. (map)

Accordion to FOX news, the deadly accident occurred at 8:10 p.m., Sunday, December 11, 2016, when the victim’s 1998 Chevrolet Corvette crashed into the side of a 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue at a high rate of speed.

The driver of the Corvette lost control of the sports car, crashed into the concrete barrier on the north side of the freeway, then went over the side. The Corvette fell about 70 feet onto Spring Street.

Sadly, the Corvette’s driver died at the scene of the accident. The 50-year-old driver of the Oldsmobile, a Spring Valley resident, was uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation.
