LA HABRA, CALIFORNIA (March 30, 2017) – Two cars were involved in a crash near Sonora High School Thursday evening, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department and local police. (map)
The accident occurred at approximately 5:45 p.m., when two vehicles collided on south palm Street and Emery Avenue. One of the vehicles struck a hydrant which caused water to spew over onto a one-story commercial building at 2001 E. Emery Avenue.
The force of the water caused a section of the roof to collapse, according to Lt. Clint Angle of the La Habra Police Department. Two people sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital. Fuel from one of the vehicles spilled into the storm drain. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision.
