Ricardo Zamora dead after collision with big rig

KINGSBURG, CALIFORNIA (December 5, 2016) – A man was killed after he crashed into a semi truck while driving in the fog on Monday, December 5th, 2016, reported the California Highway Patrol.

Around 11:45 p.m., Ricardo Zamora, 52, of Reedley, was driving a 2014 Hyundai Elantra northbound on Sixth Avenue, south of Benecia Avenue.

A preliminary investigation indicated a 2017 Kenworth tractor-trailer crossed the northbound lane as it backed into the paved portion of a produce packing plant.

For unknown reasons, Ricardo Zamora crashed the front of his Hyundai on the left side of the trailer.

Tragically, Zamora died from his injuries. The truck driver was not injured.

The CHP believe poor visibility may have played a role in the crash which remains under investigation.

“Sadly, there are no words that can comfort all family members and friends as they cope with such tragic loss,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law, a California personal injury law firm. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all parties affected in this tragedy as they try to piece together what happened.”
