The accident happened around midnight in the 2700 block of Dwight Way. A 21 year old female UC Berkeley student from Elk Grove identified as Kimberly Tze fell from a fourth floor balcony at an apartment building for an unknown reason.

Kimberly was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was tragically declared dead. Authorities are continuing to investigate the accident at this time. This is the second balcony related incident in Berkeley in the last two years. In June of 2015, six people were killed and seven were injured when a fifth floor balcony at another apartment building near UC Berkeley collapsed.
