59 year old Karen Dewolf-Brown was on board a yacht in the Huntington Beach area, around the 16400 block of Pacific Coast Highway. The Huntington Harbor Boat Parade had concluded a short time before, and there was an after party happening on many boats. Karen Dewolf-Brown was on board a yacht with her family, when they noticed her missing around 11:15 pm. A search immediately began.
Karen Dewolf-Brown was found in the water a short time later, and she was tragically pronounced dead. Karen was reportedly from the Quail Valley area of Riverside County, and initial reports also indicate she may have been a realtor.
An investigation has begun into why Karen ended up in the water, and whether or not alcohol was a factor. It is unknown who owned the yacht Karen was on at the time of the accident, but facts are still being released.
