JURUPA VALLEY, CALIFORNIA (January 9, 2017) – A pedestrian was injured in an accident on Monday morning on Interstate 60, according to a California Highway Patrol report. (map)
The accident happened around 5:20 am when a car spun out for an unknown reason in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 60 near Rubidoux Boulevard. The car became disabled, and the driver and passengers climbed up an embankment on the right hand shoulder. The driver then climbed back down to the car. A big rig traveling in the slow lane was unable to stop in time and crashed into the disabled car, which also struck the pedestrian.
The driver was rushed to a hospital with various injuries. The incident remains under investigation at this time, as authorities attempt to decipher cause and liability. Two other vehicles at the scene may have been involved, or may have been witnesses to the accident. One was described as a silver Honda Accord, which parked on the on-ramp.
“Any injured party involved in an accident will have a bodily injury claim against the negligent driver who caused the accident,” said a California car accident and personal injury lawyer.
