JOSHUA TREE, CALIFORNIA (December 29, 2016) – A pedestrian was seen down on Thursday after being struck by a car on Highway 62 near Sunset Road, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident reportedly occurred around 6:30 pm at the intersection of Highway 62 and Sunset Road, in the westbound lanes of Highway 62. A pedestrian who remains unidentified was found lying in the middle of the road way.
The pedestrian reportedly suffered major injuries and was rushed to a local hospital as a result. The crash remains under investigation by authorities as several things remain unclear at this time.
“According to experts drivers are responsible the majority of the time for pedestrian accidents. These collisions occur when drivers are careless and fail to yield in a crosswalk or when they turn right on a red light without looking out for a pedestrian,” said a California pedestrian accident and personal injury lawyer.
