GILROY, CALIFORNIA (March 13, 2017) – Joseph Porter has been identified as the motorcyclist who was killed in an accident on Highway 101 near Monterey Road on Monday, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 3:53 pm on the southbound side of Highway 101 near Monterey Road. A motorcyclist identified as 36 year old Joseph Porter was riding his 2016 Yamaha in the left lane of the freeway when he collided with the rear end of a 2007 Ford that was slowing for traffic. The crash ejected Joseph Porter from his motorcycle.

Joseph Porter was tragically pronounced dead as a result of his injuries. The woman driving the Ford was uninjured in the accident. The incident remains under active investigation, but initial reports do not indicate that drugs or alcohol are factors in this accident.
