The accident happened around 8:00 pm on Jefferson Street near Avenue 48. 63 year old John Hollingshead from Alberta, Canada, reportedly rear ended a mail truck which then struck a pickup truck.
John Hollingshead was rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on Tuesday, March 21st. The occupants of the mail truck and the pickup truck were not injured. Initial reports indicate alcohol may have been a factor, and the investigation is ongoing.
