SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA (October 24, 2017) – 27 year old Johanna Vargas was identified as the woman that was killed in a tragic accident on First Street on Tuesday evening, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 11:20 pm in the 3600 block of West First Street. Johanna Vargas was crossing the street with a friend outside of a marked crosswalk when they saw a 1994 Toyota Corolla approaching. Johanna’s friend was able to get out of the way, but Johanna was struck by the car.
Johanna sustained head injuries, and was rushed to UCI Medical Center. She was tragically pronounced dead a short time later as a result of the accident. The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities in their investigation, which is ongoing.
