TORRANCE, CALIFORNIA (March 7, 2017) –16 year old Jesse Esphorst Jr. has been identified as the victim killed in a tragic accident on Tuesday night, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and Crest Road. A silver Audi A6 and a 2014 black Mercedes Benz GLK350 were involved in a collision and the Audi attempted to flee. The Mercedes gave chase, both vehicles ran a red light and collided with a Toyota Sienna minivan that was turning left from Crenshaw onto Crest.
16 year old Jesse Esphorst Jr was a passenger in the Toyota Sienna and was rushed to a local hospital. He was tragically pronounced dead a short time later. His father sustained serious injuries and is in intensive care. The driver of the Mercedes, identified as 21 year old Tung Ming, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. He was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, and was later released after posting bail. The driver of the Audi fled the scene, abandoning the car a short distance away. The investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing at this time.
