LA PRESA, CALIFORNIA (February 14, 2017) – James Martinez has been identified as the man killed in a hit and run accident on Tuesday, January 14th on Sweetwater Road, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 10:00 p.m. on Sweetwater Road near Tyler Road. 75-year-old James Martinez was crossing the street when he was struck by a 2000 Mercedes Benz sedan heading northbound. The driver then immediately fled the scene, leaving James Martinez behind. Martinez was tragically pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Authorities were able to locate the driver of the Mercedes, identified as 18-year-old Andrew Thouzen. Thouzen was arrested for felony hit and run resulting in death. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
