“Overturned Vehicle Collision”
IRVINE, CALIFORNIA (August 15, 2017) – A pick-up truck and sedan were involved in a collision on the southbound 5 freeway near Alton Parkway early Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. (map)
The accident occurred at approximately 5:27 a.m. when a white dodge dually towing a flatbed overturned into a ravine on the southbound side of the freeway just north of Alton Parkway, according to CHP. There were very little details of the Honda involved in the crash.
The initial report indicate that the driver of the Dodge was trapped inside. However, that was not confirmed due to the driver not being mentioned in the report, according to Officer Monica Posada.
The severity of the injuries are unknown. No other details were available regarding the collisions. A SigAlert was issued and later lifted at approximately 9:40 a.m.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause and liability of the accident.
