The IPD reported that a vehicle, driven by 50-year-old Robert Garcia Jr., was attempting to make a left onto Amado Road from Sunrise Way when he collided with an SUV at 5:49 p.m. His front seat passenger was pronounced dead at the scene while his back-seat passenger was hospitalized with major injuries. The driver and passenger of the SUV sustained moderate injuries.

The IPD stated that Garcia is facing charges of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of drugs causing injury.

“It’s unfortunate that motorists under the influence disregard the negative effects that may ensue from driving under the influence. Drunk drivers continue to endanger the safety of everyone,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a California car accident and personal injury attorney.
