The high speed ferry, designated Iyanough, services a 26 mile route between Nantucket and Hyannis. The ferry crashed into the jetty around 10:00 pm, carrying 48 passengers, six crew members, and three food service workers.
A total of 18 people suffered injuries in the accident, and 15 were hospitalized as a result. The accident remains under investigation, but bad weather and choppy seas are believed to have been contributing factors.
“Any injured party involved in an accident will have a bodily injury claim against the negligent party who caused the accident,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a personal injury law firm.
