The accident happened around 8:15 am on Pacific Coast Highway near Main Street. A group of bicyclists was allegedly speeding while traveling southbound on Pacific Coast Highway. As they approached Main Street, the light turned red but several bicyclists continued through the intersection. A female pedestrian that was attempting to legally cross Pacific Coast Highway with a green light was struck by one of the bicyclists in the ground, throwing her to the ground.
The woman was rushed to a local hospital by responding paramedics, and the victim was reportedly in a state of shock following the accident. The incident is under investigation by local authorities as they attempt to decipher cause and liability.
“Any injured party involved in an accident will have a bodily injury claim against the negligent driver who caused the accident,” said a California car accident and personal injury lawyer.
