HUNTINGTON BEACH: Man Tragically Electrocuted By Downed Power Lines on Bush Drive

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA (August 21, 2017) – A man was killed by power lines at his resident on the 8200 block of Bush Driver south o Heil Avenue Early Monday morning, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department. (map)

The accident occurred just after midnight at approximately 12:23 a.m. The resident, identified as a 60 + year-old resident of Huntington Beach, heard a loud noise and went to the backyard to investigate the outage, according to Huntington Beach Lt. Tom Weizoerick.

Police officials arrived and found the man in his backyard. The man was pronounced dead at the scene due to downed power lines.

A power outage was reported at 12:27 a.m. which affected 199 customers according to Edison’s online outage center.
