“Speeding bicyclist accident”
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA (January 2, 2017) – According to the Huntington Beach Police Department, a female pedestrian was injured on Monday after a bicyclist ran her over on Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street. (map)
The HBPD reported that a large group of speeding bicyclists were traveling southbound on PCH and continued through a red light. One of the bicyclists struck a female pedestrian around 8:15 a.m. as she was crossing the street. Multiple bystanders stopped to render aid until paramedics arrived.
“The conventional wisdom is that the pedestrian always has the right of way. This is not always the case and creates a dangerous situation. Many pedestrian deaths and injuries can be avoided by both bicyclists and pedestrians being alert and cautious,” said pedestrian accident Attorney .
