HOPLAND, CALIFORNIA (October 12, 2017) – A mustang and a double tanker semi truck were involved in a collision on Highway 101 on Thursday, according to a California Highway Patrol report. (map)
The accident happened around 12:56 pm on the eastbound side of Highway 101, at the connection with State Route 175 in Hopland. A maroon Ford Mustang and a double tanker semi truck were involved in a collision for an unknown reason.
At least one person from the Mustang was airlifted from the scene in unknown condition after the collision. The semi truck originally left the scene, but authorities reported being with the vehicle a short time later. It is unknown if the accident is being classified as a hit and run or not at this time. The accident remains under open investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
