The accident happened around 7:20 pm on the Barham Boulevard overpass above the 101 freeway. A van reportedly broke through a barrier on the overpass and flew 30 feet over 5 traffic lanes before landing on the center divider, and crashing into a southbound vehicle.

Two women inside the van were tragically killed in the crash. A man inside the van and a man in the second vehicle were hospitalized in serious or critical condition. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine what caused the van to careen off the overpass.
