“Train Accident”

HOLBROOK, MASSACHUSETTS (January 1, 2017) –A man was killed after he was struck by a commuter train on Sunday afternoon, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident was reported around 1:30 pm near Union Street and Water Street. A man identified only as a 63 year old was in his car when it was struck by a commuter train near Water Street.

The man was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. None of the passengers on the train reported any injuries, and initial reports suggest the crossing arms were functional and down at the time of the accident.

“Almost one death or injury per day occurs on the rail system in the United States. Many of these tragic deaths are avoidable, the rail system is antiquated and needs a complete overhaul to ensure the safety of pedestrians, drivers, and train passengers,” said Attorney from Lexton Law Firm.
