HILLSBOROUGH: William Everett Copeland Killed by Runaway Construction Truck on Dogwood Bloom Lane

“Tragic Accident”

HILLSBOROUGH, NORTH CAROLINA (December 26, 2016) – A horrible accident killed a 5 year old little boy identified as William Everett Copeland on Monday afternoon, according to local news sources. (map)

The tragic accident happened around 1:00 pm. Construction crews working on the Forest Ridge subdivision on Dogwood Bloom Lane were loading a truck when it began to roll with nobody inside, careening down a hill, through a front yard, into a driveway and then into a garage of a finished home. A group of children were playing in a driveway and one little boy, William Everett Copeland, was unable to get out of the way.

5 year old William was hit by the truck, and tragically succumbed to his injuries and died despite the heroic efforts of a neighborhood doctor who attempted to save him. Alejandro Suarez is being charged with misdemeanor death, as he was in charge of the vehicle at the time of the accident.
