HENDERSON COUNTY, KENTUCKY (July 4, 2017) – Michael Osborne has been identified as the man killed in a tragic fireworks accident on Monday according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 10:00 pm on Dixon Road No. 2 in Henderson County. 25 year old Michael Osborne was bending over a firework to light it when it went off prematurely and struck him in the chest hard enough to cause blunt force trauma.

Michael Osborne was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition, but he was tragically pronounced dead a short time later. The fireworks being used were reportedly legal, and designed to explode 100 feet in the air. The investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.
