HEMET: Two Elderly Victims Injured in Hit and Run Accident on Calle Nogales and Devonshire Avenue

“Hit and Run Reported”

HEMET, CALIFORNIA (March 1, 2017) – Two people were injured after being hit by a car on Wedneday evening on Calle Nogales, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident was first reported around 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of Calle Nogales and Devonshire Avenue. A Mercedes reportedly rear ended a mobility scooter while it was making a left turn, then fled the scene immediately.

Two elderly victims were rushed to a nearby hospital with moderate to major injuries. It is unknown if both victims were on board the scooter at the time of the accident. The investigation is ongoing at this time as authorities attempt to find the hit and run driver.

“A person injured at the hands of a hit-and-run driver is subject to a bodily injury claim against the negligent parties insurance, assuming they have insurance once the driver is caught. If the negligent party does not carry auto insurance, injured parties may still have a claim if they carry uninsured motorist coverage also known as UM,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm.
