HAYWARD, CALIFORNIA (March 7, 2017) – One person became trapped in their vehicle after a three-vehicle crash occurred on the southbound 880 Freeway, north of Whipple Road off-ramp. (map)
The vehicles in the collision were a blue sedan, gray sedan, as well as a small-plow construction vehicle. Details of the accident are not yet available, but the impact of the crash was very severe and caused major front-end damage to one of the vehicles.
One person also became trapped in a vehicle and had to be extricated by responding fire officers. Paramedics and emergency crews were called onto the scene as well as tow trucks in order to remove vehicles from the crash site. The cause and liability of the collision are still unknown. An investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability.
