HANFORD, CALIFORNIA (January 31, 2017) – Twelve people were injured in an accident on Tuesday morning on Highway 198 and Highway 41, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 7:22 am at the intersection of Highway 198 and Highway 41. A trailer truck was allegedly turning left across Highway 41 and second semi-truck heading northbound on Highway 41 struck the trailer. An F-250 pickup truck then struck the second big rig, and a black BMW struck the rear of the pickup truck. A short time later, a second crash happened around 8:25 am on Highway 198 near 12th Avenue.
A total of 12 people were injured in the accidents, and three of them were taken to Adventist Medical Center in Hanford. Four others were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia, and five were taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
