“Two-Vehicle Injury Collision”
HANFORD, CALIFORNIA (August 29, 2017) – A PT Cruiser and pickup truck were involved in a collision on Highway 43 near Kent Avenue Tuesday afternoon, according to he California Highway Patrol. (map)
The accident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. The driver of the PT Cruiser stopped at the intersection of Highway 43 and Kent Avenue to make a turn onto Kent Avenue when the driver of a Ford F-350 failed to stop and rear-ended the PT Cruiser, according to CHP Officer John Tyler.
The impact of the collision caused the PT Cruiser to be smashed to half its normal size.
Emergency crews were called to the scene to find the driver of the PT Cruiser with major injuries and unconscious when pulled out of the vehicle. The driver was then transported to the hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Ford F-350 sustained minor injuries. An investigation is ongoing.
