GLENDORA: One Killed in DUI Hit and Run Accident on Grand Avenue near Arrow Highway

“Investigation Ongoing”

GLENDORA, CALIFORNIA (April 13, 2017) – A man was killed after he was hit by a DUI driver on Grand Avenue on Thursday morning, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 10:10 am on Grand Avenue near Arrow Highway. A man was working under the hood of his parked vehicle, when a northbound Scion XB driven by an intoxicated 29 year old struck the parked vehicle. The impact shoved the parked car forward, crushing the man working on his car between his vehicle and the one in front of it.

The 59 year old man working on his car was rushed to a hospital by responding paramedics, but was tragically pronounced dead a short time later. The man that struck the parked car fled the scene in his vehicle, but it broke down a short distance away. Authorities arrested the intoxicated driver, identified as 29 year old Mark Stephen Gagliardi, who was arrested for DUI, felony hit and run, and vehicular manslaughter. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
