GEORGETOWN, SOUTH CAROLINA(December 26, 2016) – An 11 year old girl identified as Anna Grace Cook was killed in a hunting accident on Monday, according to local news sources. (map)

The accident happened Monday just before noon at the Mount Pleasant Plantation Hunting Club. Anna Grace Cook was there with various friends and family to hunt deer. Anna was a “stander” which is someone that helps herd the deer towards the hunters, when a shotgun blast hit the 11 year old for unknown reasons.

Anna Grace Cook was tragically pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency medical personnel. The investigation is ongoing, and all initial reports indicate this was a horrible accident.
