GGPD Lieutenant Chris Lawton reported that a car hit the pedestrian man around 7:00 p.m. The identity of the pedestrian man has been withheld pending notification of family.
Lieutenant Lawton states that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with GGPD while the pedestrian man was transported to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
“The conventional wisdom is that the pedestrian always has the right of way. This is not always the case and creates a dangerous situation. Many pedestrian deaths and injuries can be avoided by both drivers and pedestrians being alert and cautious,” said pedestrian accident Attorney .
