GGPD Sergeant Douglas Pluard reported that a Honda Accord crashed into Perez around 7:00 p.m. Investigators believe that Perez was not in a crosswalk when she was struck.
Sergeant Pluard states that the driver of the Accord remained at the scene and cooperated with GGPD. Perez was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The conventional wisdom is that the pedestrian always has the right of way. This is not always the case and creates a dangerous situation. Many pedestrian deaths and injuries can be avoided by both drivers and pedestrians being alert and cautious,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law, a personal injury law firm.
