GARBERVILLE, CALIFORNIA (January 10, 2017) – A power pole collapsed onto a minivan after a collision on Tuesday night on Highway 101, according to a California Highway Patrol report. (map)
The accident occurred around 5:26 pm on the southbound side of Highway 101 in Garberville. Three cars described as a minivan, a truck, and a third unidentified vehicle were involved in a collision for unknown reasons, resulting in one of the cars colliding with a power pole, which subsequently fell onto the minivan.
Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, but the condition of those involved is unknown at this time. The investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability, and initial reports indicate the power lines in the area came down as well.
