SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA (March 4, 2017) – A man was killed in a tragic accident on Saturday morning on Interstate 5, according to a local news source. (map)

Around 3:55 a.m., a 24 year old man from Tustin identified as Gabriel Carpio was driving a black Mini Cooper southbound on Interstate 5 near Santa Ana Boulevard. Gabriel Carpio lost control of his car for an unknown reason and crashed into the center divider, then was struck by a Ford van and a Honda Pilot.

Gabriel Carpio was tragically pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. The drivers of the van and the Honda Pilot were uninjured. The accident remains under open investigation to determine cause and liability.
