“Deadly Multi-Car Crash”
FULLERTON, CALIFORNIA (February 13, 2017) – A fatal multi-vehicle accident was reported on Monday afternoon at Kimberly and Acacia Avenues, according to police officials. (map)
The fatal accident occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m. when a 2001 Hyundai Elantra, that was traveling westbound on Kimberly Avenue, drove through the intersection and collided with the passenger side of a 2004 Nissan Altima that was traveling southbound on Acacia Avenue. The collision caused the two vehicles to spin and collide with a 2013 Toyota Tundra at the intersection.
A 7-year-old girl, Perla Olivaros, and her 42-year-old mother Maria Bracamonte were extricated from the back of the Hyundai by Fire Officials. Both daughter and mother were transported to the hospital. Sadly, the girl succumbed to her injuries while in the hospital. Her mother was sent into surgery and was reported in critical condition. The driver of the Hyundai and another passenger were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Police officials stated that the child was in a appropriate child-restraint device. The investigation is currently ongoing.
