FRESNO, CALIFORNIA (January 20, 2017) – A pedestrian was struck and injured by a car on North Friant Road and Old Friant Road on Friday night, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 6:00 pm on Friant Road, near Old Friant Road. A pedestrian identified only as a male was walking in traffic lanes when he was struck by a Nissan Altima.

The pedestrian was rushed to a nearby hospital with major injuries from the accident. It is unknown if the driver of the Altima stopped to render aid. The accident remains under investigation at this time to determine cause and liability.
