FRESNO, CALIFORNIA (February 19, 2017) – A motorcyclist was killed on Sunday afternoon when he was involved in a collision with an SUV at the intersection of Blackstone Avenue and Minarets Avenue, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 1:30 pm at the intersection of Minarets Avenue and Blackstone Avenue. A motorcycle rider was reportedly approaching the intersection when the rider allegedly attempted to run a red light, and collided with the rear of a 2016 Ford Explorer.
The motorcyclist was tragically killed as a result of injuries sustained in the accident. The investigation is ongoing to determine cause and liability at this time.
“Motorists must be aware of motorcyclists on the road at all time. They may not always appear in rear view mirrors and often end up in blind spots causing drivers to completely miss them, creating potential for a possible accident,” said the attorneys from Lexton Law Firm, a California motorcycle accident and injury law firm.
