FRESNO: Man Critically Injured After Hit by an SUV on Blackstone Avenue near Griffith Way

“Pedestrian vs. Vehicle Collision”

FRESNO, CALIFORNIA (August 27, 2017) – A male pedestrian approximately in his 20’s was involved in a vehicle collision on Blackstone Avenue near Griffith Way Sunday evening, according to the Fresno Police Department. (map)

The accident occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m. The male pedestrian was crossing Blackstone Avenue when the driver of a red or orange Chevrolet Avalanche struck the pedestrian.

The driver of the Avalanche drove southbound on Blackstone Avenue and then traveled westbound on Saginaw Avenue, according to Fresno police Lt. Steve Card.

The male pedestrian was transported to Community Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

An investigation is ongoing. The Fresno Police is asking anyone with information about the hit-and-run collision to please call 559-621-7000.
