FRESNO, CALIFORNIA (February 21, 2017) – A man was killed after being struck by a train on Belmont Avenue and Diana Street on Tuesday evening, according to a local news source. (map)

The accident happened around 9:21 p.m. at the intersection of Belmont Avenue and Diana Street. A man identified as being a white male in his 50s or 60s was struck by an Amtrak train heading southbound. The pedestrian was sadly declared dead at the scene by responding emergency medical personnel.

The train was occupied with passengers at the time of the collision, but nobody on the train reported any injuries. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
