FRESNO, CALIFORNIA (February 20, 2017) – A man was killed on Monday afternoon after he was struck by an Amtrak train near California Avenue, according to a local news source. (map)
The accident happened around 1:20 p.m. near East Avenue and California Avenue. A bicyclist, identified only as a male, was heading east when he crossed the train tracks and was struck by a southbound Amtrak train. The bicyclist was rushed to Community Regional Hospital where he sadly succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
